‘Sakura Wars’ PS4 Game Gets Date and Trailer for Western Release

The elusive series comes to the west after a near-decade absence.

The last time a new mainline Sakura War came out was in 2010.  Now, Sega wants to bring the newest one to the west. Dubbed Sakura Wars, this game takes a soft reboot of the series, allowing those who want to jump into the series to do so.  Playing as new captain Seijuro Kamiyama, you need to upgrade the Imperial Combat Revue’s Flower Division’s name by improving the theater during peace.  More importantly, you also have to fight the demon uprising during wartime.

Sakura Wars is a JRPG taking on a steampunk theme in style and setting.  Players will link up with their spiricle armour (a steam powered mech) to defeat demons and other foes.  The uniqueness of Sakura Wars, besides the settings its visual novel like gameplay that has consequences.  Dubbed the LIPS system, how you interact with characters will affect your combat during fights. Sega showed off the visuals as well as provided a trailer to show off the game.
