The classic OVA series finds some new streaming.

It’s time to go back to the magical world of 1988 and 1989 when we saw the release of the four-episode OVA series Vampire Princess Miyu. The show was one of the earliest projects released by AnimEigo on VHS at the time and brought in many fans looking for something spooky and supernatural without the humor that other projects had. The show is now getting some new streaming thanks to Tubi with all four of them available as two-episode seasons here and here. The current presentation is of the English dubbed version.

The OVA series was directed by Eri Tsukamoto and Toshihiro Hirano based on the series composition by Noboru Aikawa. Narumi Kakinouchi worked on the character designs from his original work and it was animated by AIC.

The Japanese cast includes Mami Koyama as Himiko Se, Naoko Watanabe as Miyu, and Kaneto Shiozawa as Larva.

Plot Concept: Spiritualist Himiko Se finds herself involved with the supernatural when she comes face to face with a young vampire girl known only as Miyu whose purpose is to banish a race of demons known only as Shinma to the dark.
