“True Facts: Kachikachi Mountain”

What They Say:
The Outdoor Activities Club, Aka, the Outclub has 3 members. In the countryside of Yamanashi Prefecture, there’s a high school named Motosu High School. Go even further to one of the school buildings and you’ll find a very laid-back outdoor club that uses one corner of the classroom as their club room. Kagamihara Nadeshiko finally wants to kill some time in their club room, but then Ohgaki Chiaki and Inuyama Aoi suddenly announce that they’re all going on a trip. The girls enjoy the various local treats as they travel around, but where in the world is the end destination for this trip?!

After some fun time with just Rin the last time around, this episode brings the group together again as they head to Kachikachi Mountain. It’s things like that that I enjoy in seeing them take the cable car up and get a feel for the location and type of people that get out for it. A good chunk of the episode is just them going up in the car while talking about other things in a silly way, such as the animals, and it being brought to life in its own cartoonish way. But eventually, we’re in the mountain itself and things start coming together as they take in some of the mascots and enjoy the sights with Mt. Fuji in the background.

In Summary:
The episode is light as expected but it’s nice to see the trio hanging out for a simple trip together and some of how they lightly influence some younger kids with their silliness. The bonds of friends is the main draw of the show and seeing this trio hanging together is pretty fun in general even if it doesn’t truly do anything with them besides just taking those few minutes to slow things down and smell the roses. Room Camp does that well and forces the viewer to just take a deep breath and engage in it as well.
