First and foremost, there is no disgusting roach in this episode. Thank Aqua. Ha, see what I did there? I thought it was clever. Anyway, there’s going to be a test! Subaru angrily gets up from his seat and yells that there’s too much to do at this school! That shouldn’t have made me laugh that much but it did. Starting off the episode with a laugh is always a good sign. Ainz, of all people, is worried about failing the test. But why? Apparently, he never graduated from middle school!? Shocking truth! I’m actually quite surprised by that. Of course, all of his guardians are confident that he will pass the test. However, they’re not so confident that Shalltear will pass the test, haha. Of course, Ainz plays it off like it’s natural that he will definitely pass the test. He was just making sure if it was possible to fail the test because not everyone is good at taking tests. This irritates Aqua because she thinks he was looking at her when he said that! She challenges him to a competition to see who gets a better score. Ainz tries to intimidate her but it doesn’t work. We can’t forget that Aqua is a dummy. A lovable dummy, but a dummy nonetheless.

After school, Aqua begins regretting her decision. Kazuma trashes her because that’s what he does. Tanya happily welcomes Aqua to her strict studying regimen. She immediately declines. That was actually a smart move on Aqua’s part. I don’t think anyone wants to go through that. At the library, Subaru is studying with Emilia and Rem. He’s glad he could study with them like this, again. Wait, again? When did he ever study with these two? Don’t think about it too hard, Subaru! Kazuma decides to go next door and ask Chris to help Aqua study. At the moment, she’s having a fun conversation with Felt. It’s nice to see the two thieves chatting it up. But there’s no better thief than Kazuma! He even stole Chris’s panties which he brings up, haha. But what about helping Aqua study? Well, we never do find out if they helped her study as they cut to the test after this scene. That’s a shame. I was kind of hoping for an Aqua studying montage.

It’s time for the test. Roswaal adds that the problems were written by Pandora’s Actor. Oh boy! As he’s handing out the tests, he informs everyone that cheating isn’t allowed. If you’re caught stealing, you’ll get a zero. Kazuma was totally planning to cheat, haha. But he changes his mind when Megumin showers him with praise. You the real MVP, Megumin. Ainz, on the other hand, does plan to cheat! He can’t seem to answer any of the questions. Really? Not even one? Should have gone to school, Ainz! He uses his level 11 magic, Time Stop. As the name suggests, he stops time. Now that everyone is frozen, he can easily copy the answers from someone. But wait, Aqua can move!? Oh yeah, she is a goddess. That does slip my mind every now and then. She has no shame whatsoever and immediately begins copying the answers from Kazuma’s test. I am dying of laughter at this point. Aqua gets yelled at by Tanya! Tanya can move, too!? I guess being able to talk to Being X makes her immune. Aqua hilariously pretends that she wasn’t cheating by whistling. Also, she sucks at whistling. My sides, they hurt. And hey, Subaru is also immune to Time Stop! Ainz concludes that this world is scary and undoes the spell. Tanya and Subaru quickly return to their seats but a confused Aqua remains standing. Naturally, she is told to stand in the hallway by Roswaal. She definitely got a zero.

Well, Ainz did his best. On the bright side, he did at least beat Aqua! You know, since she got a zero and all. Ainz takes a closer look at his test and realizes his answers form the shape of Pandora’s Actor’s head! Admittingly, Ainz thought he may try something like this knowing his personality. Thus, he got a perfect score. I guess everything worked out in the end.

In Summary:
This was probably the funniest episode of the season so far. The laughs just kept coming and coming. I certainly appreciated that! It was surprising to learn that Ainz never passed middle school. I find it funny that we learn more about Ainz in this show than his own Overlord anime! The answers being in the shape of Pandora’s Actor’s head was great. And of course, Aqua is comedy gold. Oh Aqua, poor Aqua. She just can’t seem to catch a break, huh? I almost feel bad for her. Almost.
