Originally serialized in Comic Eros #80 from the February 2020 installment, The Same Old Commute – Part 1 is a twenty-two-page story from creator Dagashi, who has over a dozen other works on the service. The first chapter of this was my first time seeing Dagashi’s work and I was won over heavily by it. The second installment has landed on the service quickly and I have no complaints with that, especially as it did it with eight pages more than the first part of this storyline. Dagashi’s artwork was a huge part of the sell of it as there’s a good rawness to it but I also really appreciate the quality of the outfit designs as well as making the lead in her thirties, which removes a lot of the usual problematic areas for a number of readers.
Taking place a few months after their first encounter, things have been continuing on between Mizoguchi and Sakuma. They’re actually keeping it entirely out of the office, which is a plus, but Mizoguchi is riding him just as hard as his boss as she was before they started to hook up. That makes it look like he’s having a hell of a work life – and he is, because she’s pushing him to actually do what he’s supposed to do. We do see later on that she’s complimented on the fact that she’s getting him into shape and working well since he was a problem person for them for for a while. It’s amusing because of the situation but I do like that neither seemed to really take advantage of the other in regards to their work life so that everything went normally there.
Outside of there? Mizoguchi is completely enamored by Sakuma and his capabilities. With the extended page count here, we get a lot of different encounters in multiple locations as she’s basically craving him constantly. Again, it doesn’t impact their work day by all appearances but once he starts driving her home after work, they’re getting into it in the car constantly, teasing some public displays from within there, and we even get a lookout point they go to where nobody else is, pop open the hatchback, and let her completely cut loose and be an exhibitionist as well. The chapter does a really good job of showing how she’s become, well, addicted to Sakuma in a way that she needs what he offers more and more. This is not an unfamiliar thing with someone who comes into sex later in life, wanting to make up for lost time, and the combination of his stamina and her apparent sensitivity means that she’s an utterly delightful mess for him.
In Summary
I had really enjoyed the first installment of this story as it gave me a lot of different things from the usual stories, all combined with some fantastic artwork. This one carries that story along (and I do hope there’s more someday to show some growth in the relationship) and shows how both of them have changed in the months since they began hooking up. Mizoguchi feels pretty authentic in a lot of ways for a woman in her thirties discovering sex and intimacy while Sakuma’s desire to please is heightened by having someone so completely into him. With the extra pages in this one we get a lot more material, a little montage bit, and that drives home the marathon-session lifestyle that they’re leading, which makes it all the more exciting.
