The Pop Team Epic anime series had its broadcast run with a twelve-episode run and then brought out a pair of specials. The property as a whole got a wide release for streaming previously through the subscription-based services and now the series has found its way to Netflix where… they’re only showing half the episode. With the series flipping the script with different actors in the back half, Netflix has opted to not put that half up, presumably because it would be too confusing to their audience. It does eliminate various different gags and just the differences in actors. The series also comes up short on options as it’s only available in Japanese with either English or French subtitles.
The show was animated by Kamikaze Douga with King Records producing it. The original work is a webmanga that began in 2014 as a four-panel project. The first series ended in late 2015 and a second kicked off in early 2016.
Plot Concept: Crude, rude, and a little…cute? Get ready for the larger-than-life attitude of Popuko and Pipimi, the small and tall stars of Pop Team Epic. Based off the popular four-panel webcomic comes a bizarre comedy filled with plenty of absurdity!
