Funimation Gets Sunday Grooving With The ‘Plunderer’ Anime Theme Songs

The anime adaptation of the Plunderer manga from Suu Minazuki got underway back on January 8th, 2020 and some new promotion has landed for it. Funimation’s been doing a lot with the show and now they’re streaming the theme songs with the opening sequence that has “Plunderer” by Miku Itou and the ending sequence with “Countless days” by Rina Honizumi to check out!

The series is directed by Hiroyuki Kanbe based on the scripts overseen by Masashi Suzuki. Yuka Takashina and Hiroki Fukuda are working on the character designs with studio Geek Toys handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Yoshiki Nakajima as Licht Bach, Rina Honnizumi as Hina, Ari Ozawa as Lynn May, Aoi Ichikawa as Pele, Yuichiro Umehara as Jail Murdoch, Shizuka Itou as Nana, and Aoi Yūki will play Mizuki Sonohara.

The English cast includes Eric Vale as Licht Bach, Sarah Wiedenheft as Hina, Elizabeth Maxwell as Lynn May, and Austin Tindle as Pele Popolo.

Miku Itō will perform the opening theme song “Plunderer” while Rina Honnizumi will perform the ending theme song “Countless Days” for the production.

The manga from Suu Minazuki began in 2014 and has twelve volumes out so far. Yen Press is releasing it in English.

Plot Concept: It’s the year 305 of the Alcian calendar, and the world is controlled by numbers. Every human born is branded with a “Count,” which could mean anything from the number of kilometers walked to the amount of people who have said your food is tasty. And if your Count drops to 0… you’ll be sent into the Abyss! After Hina’s mother’s Count dropped to 0, her last request is for Hina to look for the Legendary Red Baron.
