With plans for a 2020 debut, we’ve had most of the basic details previously revealed for the Zashikiwarashi no Tatami-chan anime series. Now, the official site has updated with a new key visual below and the confirmation that this will be getting an April 2020 debut. Coming from manga creator Rensuke Oshikri, the project is being crowdfunded with a goal of $46,000 to pull it all together. Oshikiri intends to write and draw the project as well as direct it.
The previously Japanese cast includes:

- Yōji Ueda as Pom Poko Maru

Plot Concept: The “pleasant horror gag comedy” centers around the life of Tatami-chan, a sardonic ghost from Iwate Prefecture who is now living in Tokyo among other spirits, supernatural entities, and humans. In addition to dealing with otherworldly matters, the unemployed Tatami-chan has to deal with job-hunting as well as paying for gas, water, and electricity.
