!n enjoyable experience as we get more Nagoya-ness!

“It Ain’t Dull”

What They Say:
After growing up in Tokyo, high school student Jin Kaito moves to Nagoya where he meets Yatogame Monaka, a fellow student who puts her Nagoya dialect on full display. With her cat-like appearance and unvarnished Nagoya dialect, Yatogame won’t open up to him at all. This popular local comedy is increasing the status of Nagoya through observation of the adorable Yatogame-chan!

The Review:
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
With Taspony being set as the sport of choice, the ball sports tournament gets underway and there are plenty of questions about what the sport actually is. Of course, that’s not going to play well when it’s learned but it should be a lot of fun to watch unfold since it;s such a physical sport. Yatogame has her sport of choice unfolding and we see how silly it is with the sponge ball bouncing back and forth and the way that these girls are even frightened of this. It’s not unfamiliar to have this play out in anime and real life, but I wish it was done a bit less in entertainment. Still, it’s amusing to watch as Yatogame points out the friendships being built because of all of this and the energy and passion of some of them.

In Summary:
There’s definitely some fun to be had in watching the whole Taspony element play out because it’s just so goofy, and that fits the show well. Yatogame’s pride in getting this going is definitely fun as well and there’s plenty to enjoy in the bonds that are forged and the silliness in the way some of its presented. It’s light on anything meaty as you’d expect from a short of this nature but it has the laughs and it delivers it well across the whole episode, making for an enjoyable experience as we get more Nagoya-ness.
