Given a ten-episode order this last year with plans for a spring 2020 debut, the second trailer for the Freeform series Motherland: Fort Salem has arrived. This comes with a premiere date of March 18th, 2020 and that it’s getting some streaming through Hulu as well. The series was created by Eliot Laurence and has Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Kevin Messick, Maria Maggenti, and Steven Adelson as producers. The series was filmed this spring and summer in Vancouver.

The cast includes:

  • Taylor Hickson as Raelle
  • Jessica Sutton as Tally
  • Amalia Holm as Scylla
  • Demetria McKinney as Anacostia
  • Ashley Nicole Williams as Abigail Bellweather

Plot Concept: Set in an alternate America where witches ended their persecution over 300 years ago by cutting a deal with the government to fight for their country, “Motherland: Fort Salem” follows three young women from basic training in combat magic into early deployment. In this world, the traditional roles of gender and power are flipped, with the more dominant women on the front lines fighting looming terrorist threats that are familiar to our world—but with supernatural tactics and weapons.
