The latest rankings have come in from NPD BookScan via ICv2 showing what the top twenty graphic novels in general were for the adult market in December 2019. It was, once again, a good month for Viz Media as not only did they have eleven slots on the chart, they had all the manga on the chart as well. This month saw seven volumes of My Hero Academia claiming slots while new volumes of One-Punch Man and Dragon Ball Super did well. The backlist also saw a surge in Demon Slayer and we may be seeing later volumes going on the upswing as well.
The best news? No Longer Human charted in hardcover form in the tenth slot. That’s impressive considering price and it being somewhat of a limited audience. They went out and bought.
On the superhero side, Watchmen continues its evergreen-ness for DC Comics while Marvel Comics has House of X / Powers of X charting in hardcover.
The top of the list is from the more general author side where Strange Planet from Nathan Pyle takes the top spot while Dark Horse Comics gets its own charting book with Critical Role: Vox Machina: Origins.
