Robert Zemeckis Boarding ‘Ares’ SF Film

1 min read

It looks like Robert Zemeckis may be heading back to the science fiction genre as he’s in advanced negotiations to direct a project at Warner Bros. The film is currently titled as Ares and is based on the original screenplay by Geneva Robertson-Dworet, who was involved in the Captain Marvel script. Zemeckis coming on to direct would bring on his partners at ImageMovers along with those already set up through WB And MGM where the film originally gestated as a project from Roland Emmerich as a producer.

Plot Concept: Ares follows an astronaut who survives his space capsule’s crash landing in an African desert but begins to suspect his mission was in service of a conspiracy that hides a secret with world-changing ramifications.
