Funimation is working to promote one of their new properties with the anime series Radiant. With the show having its first two-cour season out previously and working through its second now, the new promotion is pretty fun as we get Caitlin Glass, the ADR director who also plays Melie in it, explaining how everything in the show works with a lot of enthusiasm. The English cast includes Christopher Llewyn Ramirez as Seth, Barry Yandell as Narrator, Marcus D. Stimac as Boss, and Monica Rial as Alma.
The series is broadcast in Japan on NHK with Crunchyroll handling overseas streaming. Seiji Kishi is serving as the general director and Motoo Fukuoka as the series director working from the composition by Makoto Uezu. Lerche will be handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Yumiri Hanamori as Seth, Aoi Yūki as Mélie, Shintarou Oohata as Doc, Romi Park as Alma, Makoto Koichi as Mister Bobley, Koji Yusa as Dragunov, Takehito Koyasu as Grim, Kappei Yamaguchi as Master Lord Majesty, Hiroyuki Yoshino as Yaga, Nao Tōyama as Miss Melba, Kenta Miyake as Tork, Takuma Terashima as Von Tepes, Saori Hayami as Ulmina Bagliore, Ayane Sakura Lieselotte, Kenichi Ogata as Santori, Ryohei Kimura as Piodan, Tetsu Inada as Boss, and Sho Hayami as the narrot.
The work comes from Tony Valente with eight volumes out since it debuted in 2013 in France and seven volumes released in Japan so far with its localization.
Plot Concept: Seth is an aspiring sorcerer from the Pompo Hills area. Like all wizards, he is an “infected,” one of the few living beings who survived the contact of the Nemesis—creatures fallen from the sky that contaminate and decimate all those they touch. Being immune to them, Seth wants to become a Hunter and fight the Nemesis. But more than that, Seth wants to engage in a quest that goes beyond the simple hunt for monsters. He wants to find the Radiant, their presumed cradle. Aided by a faction of fellow sorcerers, he travels the world in search of the Radiant, under the harsh scrutiny of the Inquisition.
