The summer 2019 anime adaptation of the manga series How much heavy dumbbells can you lift? is being handled by Kadokawa and they’ve set the home video release schedule for it. The twelve-episode series is scheduled for a four-volume release that began on September 25th, 2019. We’re catching up a bit with a look at the fourth and final volume that came out over the holidays, giving us a good look at the full run now. The DVDs are priced at 8,000 yen each and the Blu-rays at 9,000 yen each. Check the full schedule below!
The series has Mitsue Yamazaki directing based on the scripts from Fumihiko Shimo. Ai Kikuchi worked on the character designs with Doga Kobo handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Ai Fairouz as Hibiki Sakura, Sora Amamiya as Akemi Soryuin, Shizuka Ishigame as Ayaka Uehara, Nao Toyama as Zina Void, Yui Horie as Satomi Tachibana, and Kaito Ishikawa plays Naruzō Machio.
The original manga comes from Yabako Sandrovich and MAAM has seven volumes out since it began back in 2016 on the Ura Sunday manga site. This is the second adaptation of one of Sandrovich’s works as Kengan Ashura received one as well.
Plot Concept: Hibiki Sakura’s love for food is starting to affect her size. In effort to slim down, she scopes out her local gym only to discover two problems—it’s a haven for intimidating body builders, and her classmate Akemi has a weirdly aggressive muscle obsession. After meeting her handsome personal trainer, Machio, Hibiki bites the bullet and starts her quest for a hot bod!
