Final ‘Eureka Seven: Hi – Evolution’ Film Debuts New Teaser

2 min read

The first film in the Eureka 7 film trilogy premiered back in September 2017 and the second film, Anemone: Eureka Seven: Hi – Evolution, arrived in November 2018 for Japanese audiences. We learned earlier this month that the third film via the official site islisted it for a 2021 debut, which is a significant delay. To get us a little more frustrated over it, the official site has now dropped a new trailer for the project that clocks in at a whopping 18-seconds. It’s not a lot and half of it is just the logo, but it’s the kind of tease that works for some fans and provides the video confirmation of the 2021 bump.

Check out our review of the first film.

The project sees Tomoki Kyouda returning as the general director working with hands-on director Hisatoshi Shimizu working off of the screenplays by Dai Sato. Kenichi Yoshida is on board as the character designer with Bones once again producing the animation for it.

Plot Concept: Ten years ago, the major earth-shaking “First Summer of Love” event occurred. Renton, who lost his father during the event, now attends the army school of the United Federation of Predgio Towers located in the border town of Bellforest. Because his late father is still praised, Renton feels something is lacking as he continues with his ordinary, boring days. Then one day, Nirvash, the world’s oldest LFO, appears in front of him and a girl named Eureka emerges from the cockpit. This was the beginning of the future of humans and Scub Coral, another intelligent lifeform.

Was this encounter all just a coincidence? Or was it fate? Where will Renton and Eureka’s journey end?
