Announced back in August 2018 with a tentative title of The Denizens of Kabuki-chō, Production I.G. previously revealed that it will go by the name of Kabukicho Sherlock. The series is part of the fall 2019 season that Funimation has been releasing under the title Case File nº221: Kabukicho.
We’re still just gonna call it Kabukicho.
Funimation has now rolled out a new clip from the show as the mysterious young boy who accompanies Sherlock gets tangled up in an ugly series of events. Where will his path lead?
The show has Ai Yoshimura directing it with Taku Kishimoto handling the scripting side. Toshiyuki Yahai is on board with the character designs and Production I.G. on the anime production.
The previously announced Japanese cast includes Katsuyuki Konishi as Sherlock, Yūichi Nakamura as John H. Watson, Seiichirō Yamashita as James Moriarty, Sōma Saitō as Fuyuto Kyogoku, Nao Tōyama as Mary Morstan, Mariko Higashiuchi as Lucy Morstan, Yutaka Aoyama as Michel Belmont, Tatsumaru Tachibana as Toratarō Kobayashi, Seiichirō Yamashita as James Moriarty, and Junichi Suwabe as Mrs. Hudson.
The episodes work with the opening and closing sequences which features the song “CAPTURE” by EGO-WRAPPIN’ and “Hyakuoku Kounen (百億光年)” by Lozareena.
