2 min read

The new boys-love brand Blue Lynx that Fuji TV announced back in April 2019 revealed at the time an anime feature film adaptation of Kou Yoneda’s manga Twittering Birds Never Fly, known originally as Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai. We knew that Kaori Makita is directing based on the screenplay by Hiroshi Seko. GRIZZLY is handling the animation production for it and we’ve had some tantatlizing trailer material for it that promised an early 2020 debut. That February date is now shaping up as the official site has brought out a new key visual and confirmed a February 15th, 2020 premiere for the project. Check them out in the tweet below.

The Japanese cast includes Tarusuke Shingaki as Yashiro and Wataru Hatano as Doumeki.

The manga saw a pickup back in 2013 in English through Digital Manga Publishing.

Check out the official site and Twitter.

Plot concept: The sexually masochistic yakuza boss, Yashiro, isn’t the type to warm up to others easily. But when Chikara Doumeki, his newly hired bodyguard, catches his interest, he reconsiders his “hands-off” policy with subordinates. As Yashiro’s invitations fail, the yakuza boss finds out his bodyguard has a very personal reason for staying at arm’s length.
