It’s been a couple of years since the series No Game No Life was all the rage but that’s part of what makes it fun to revisit these works. The show is getting ready for some new distribution however as it’s now listed as coming to Netflix. With the TV series going live last week with a December 1st, 2019 debut, the No Game No Life Zero feature film has also now gone live to give us a good look at the property in this form. Based on previous additions of titles that Sentai Filmworks handles, it won’t have any new language options.

Check out our review of the Collector’s Edition from Sentai Filmworks.

The anime adaptation comes from original creator Yuu Kamiya and is directed by Atsuko Ishizuka (The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, NANA) with series composition by Jukki Hanada (Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!, Beyond the Boundary), art direction by Eiji Iwase (Campione!, Divergence Eve) and animation production by Madhouse Studios (Highschool of the Dead, BTOOOM!).

Plot concept: Bored with life and considering it in the real world to be just a “crappy game,” savvy siblings Sora and Shiro have withdrawn into their own fantasy world filled with video games. It is because of this that they are summoned to another world by a boy calling himself “God.” It’s here in this world where Sora and Shiro’s abilities are put to the test. They are now in a world where their fate – and the fate of all humanity – is decided by game. Can they beat the hardest game they’ve ever played?
