After the world has fallen into a state of disrepair, humanity has retreated to huge mobile cities named Regios.

Chrome Shelled Regios Hulu HeaderIt’s been several years since we heard anything about Chrome Shelled Regios in North America and it’s one that never even made it out on Blu-ray here, being a DVD-only release. With our look back at some of the older dub clips, this felt like a show to shine a light on to see how it was promoted at the time. Funimation still has three clips for the show on their channel in addition to streaming the series which you can see below.

Based on the light novel series from Shusuke Amagi that ran for twenty-five volumes between 2008 and 2013, the anime series landed in 2009 from studio Zexcs with Itsuro Kawaski directing based on the scripts by Mamiko Ikeda. The original light novels spawned several manga spin-offs and a couple of shorter light novel spin-off works as well.

Plot concept: After the world has fallen into a state of disrepair, humanity has retreated to huge mobile cities named Regios. With the Earth now populated by contaminated life-forms, humanity must defend itself by using weapons called DITE. One young man trying to forget his past arrives in the Regios named Zuellini, but soon catches the attention of those who would use his considerable skills for their own ends.
