The light novel series Housekisho Richard-shi no Nazo Kantei, aka The Case Files of Jeweler Richard, is in line for an anime adaptation in January 2020 as we learned in August. A new promotional trailer has landed for it that has confirmed a January 9th, 2020 debut for the show on AT-X before moving to other networks and streaming services. Tarou Iwasaki is directing based on the scripts by Mariko Kunisawa. Natsuko Kondou is serving as the chief animation director and character designer with Shuka handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Takahiro Sakurai as Richard Ranashinha Dvorpian
- Yūma Uchida as Seigi Nakata
- Kana Hanazawa as Akiko Tanimoto
- Yūichi Iguchi as Haruyoshi Shimomura
The light novel series comes from writer Nanako Tsujimura which began in 2015 and will have nine volumes out as of this month.
Plot Concept: The story centers on a beautiful British jeweler Richard Ranasinghe Dvorpian and a Japanese university student with a bright and sincere personality, Seigi Tanaka. The two solve various cases related to jewels by finding out the mysteries hidden inside of their owners.
