“Humans Who Can Be Trusted”

What They Say:
In a world where magic is everything, Asta and Yuno are both found abandoned at a church on the same day. While Yuno is gifted with exceptional magical powers, Asta is the only one in this world without any. At the age of fifteen, both receive grimoires, magic books that amplify their holder’s magic. Asta’s is a rare Grimoire of Anti-Magic that negates and repels his opponent’s spells. Being opposite but good rivals, Yuno and Asta are ready for the hardest of challenges to achieve their common dream: to be the Wizard King. Giving up is never an option!

Inside the Glamour World, everyone is stoked to know that they can leave through the exits that appeared all around them. Vanessa, Magna, Charmy, Luck, and Sally decide to get the heck out and make a beeline for the nearest exit. Dorothy tries to stop the group but all of her attacks miss because of Rogue. Vanessa’s magic is just too good. Add Charmy’s magic into the mix and well, you already know it’s a recipe for success. I guess this means their escape is pretty much guaranteed, right? Nah, it’s never that easy. Dorothy locks all of the exits with chains. Looks like they’re in quite the pickle now. After all, anything goes in this dream world. Luck gets an idea and shares it with Sally. She agrees that it’s a good idea and they put it into action. Magna distracts Dorothy which gives them time to create a doll made from Charmy’s cotton and Vanessa’s thread. What’s the purpose of this? Remember, they’re not actually fighting Dorothy but rather a reincarnated elf that’s possessing her body. The goal was to have her think of the real Dorothy and summon her to the dream world. That was actually pretty smart thinking on Luck’s part. Not bad, not bad at all.

The Black Bulls are glad to have summoned the real Dorothy to help them. She’s asleep at first but wakes up immediately. You know, I’ve never seen her awake throughout the entire series. We’re entering new territory here folks! What’s she like? It turns out she’s a very energetic person! She’s just so chipper and introduces herself as everyone’s big sister. She certainly seems like tons of fun! The fake Dorothy is not amused by any of this and attacks the real one. The real Dorothy is having a lot of fun right now and is happy that she can share her dream world with so many people. As the two Dorothys battle each other, everyone else starts replenishing their mana by eating Charmy’s food. Have I ever mentioned just how busted Charmy’s magic is? I have? Just making sure. Don’t you forget it.

We then go back to the other fight against Gauche and Marie. Dangit, I wanted to see the two Dorothys fight each other! What a terrible time to shift back to this fight. For shame! Anyway, the others hop a ride on Henry’s flying Mini Black Bull. They’re going full speed towards Gauche. Of course, Gauche isn’t going to just stand there and take it. He begins firing his mirror beams at it but Grey uses her transformation magic to create the Mirrored Mini Black Bull! All of the beams bounce off the mirrors. Nice move, Grey! Sadly, she did not mirror all of the Mini Black Bull and Gauche manages to attack those weaknesses. That’s unfortunate. Henry places Asta, Grey, and Gordon in a box and flings them out of the Mini Black Bull. He wants to make sure they’re safe since he’s planning to make a kamikaze dive at Gauche. You’re too young to die, Henry! Not like this, not like this. He’s fully prepared to die in order to keep his friends safe. Henry’s a good dude, but dying is never the answer. Gauche realizes that Henry is absorbing his magic and isn’t worried in the slightest. His magic isn’t that weak. I guess Henry sucking up all of Gauche’s magic would have been too convenient.

Henry starts reminiscing about all the happy memories he’s had with everyone. He eventually realizes that he doesn’t want to die. Instead, he wants to continue having fun with everyone. Now we’re talking, Henry! Naturally, Asta and the others don’t want their friend to die either and swoop in to save him! Gauche is distracted by all of this which allows Asta to land a crushing blow to his stomach. Got ’em. Gauche is now laying down on the ground while holding Marie. Again, it’s not the real Gauche but a reincarnated elf possessing him. Also, I just remembered that the elf’s name is Droit which still amuses me to no end. Droit starts remembering the day all the elves were wiped out by the humans. Specifically, they were human royals that stole their magic out of greed. You can’t blame him for hating humans. However, he recognizes that Asta and the rest aren’t like those humans. They’re just like him, only trying to protect their precious friends. Droit accepts his defeat and allows Asta to cleanse him and Marie. His parting words are that every action has a consequence. He’s not wrong, that’s for sure.

Gauche is seen confronting a fading Droit. He actually agrees with him. You can’t trust humans. They only look out for themselves and would betray anyone if it benefits them. That’s why he only cares about himself and Marie. That was enough. Well, it was until he joined the Black Bulls. He’d never admit it to everyone but he’s clearly glad they consider him a friend. He tries to reprimand everyone for saving him but eventually thanks everyone bashfully, haha. Adorable. Let your true feelings out, Gauche! Everyone hugs their favorite sister-loving jerk. Suddenly, the sky above them cracks and out of the hole comes everyone that was stuck in the dream world. The two Dorothys are having one heck of a battle. The real Dorothy is attacking with tigers and giant golems while the fake Dorothy is charging with sharks and giant snakes. This all sounds absurd but at the same time, it’s just so darn cool. I’m salivating at the thought of what other weird stuff they’re going to conjure up…but then we’re told that the Glamour World can’t sustain the dreams of two people. Thus, it collapses and the battle is over. You’ve got to be kidding me…

Before she disappears, the real Dorothy comments that not all humans are greedy. It seems like the fake realizes this to be true after her fight with these kids. Asta cleanses Dorothy and all the Black Bulls are finally together again. Well, except for Finral and Captain Yami. Still, yay! Noelle makes a hilarious entrance by falling on Asta and just remains sitting on him. It’s not like she was jealous that they were all having fun without her, baka! Everyone starts recovering their mana so that they can meet up with the captain as soon as possible.

In Summary:
The elves are continuing to learn that not all humans are bad. That’s a good thing. You also can’t help but feel bad for them. They really did get the short end of the stick. Henry is a good boy, protect his smile everyone! I was curious to find out what Dorothy’s personality was like and did not expect her to be so chipper, haha. I am a fan. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed that the fights weren’t longer, especially the one between the two Dorothys. That one had the potential to be amazing but it ended so abruptly. Anything goes in the dream world and they could have come up with so much cool stuff. I honestly think it was a missed opportunity. On the bright side, we at least got some Dorothy shenanigans in the Petit Clover after the credits. She’s such a troll. Dorothy best girl?
