We learned back in March that the Pet manga was getting an anime adaptation and in May we learned that it’s set for the fall 2019 season. It’s admittedly hard to get too excited for the show considering how Amazon treats its streaming overseas, but the new promo definitely continues to raise interest for it. With a January 6th, 2020 premiere date for Japanese broadcast, check it out below along with the ending theme song from Memai Siren. It’s being directed by Takahiro Omori based on the series composition by Sadayuki Murai. Geno Studio is handling the animation for the production. The show is getting broadcast in Japan with its streaming handled by Amazon Prime Video both in Japan and worldwide.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Keisuke Ueda as Hiroki
  • Kishō Taniyama as Tsukasa
  • Yuuki Ono as Satoru
  • Yasuyuki Kase as Hayashi
  • Shunsuke Sakuya as Katsuragi
  • M.A.O as Jin
  • Koji Yusa as Ron
  • Nobuo Tobita as company president

The manga by Ranjou Miyake had five volumes released for it in a Remaster Edition back in 2009.

Plot Concept: The story follows a group of psychic individuals that have the ability to telepathically infiltrate the minds of other people and to manipulate their memories. This ability is often used for shady business, such as hiding the evidence of crimes such as assassination, and it corrupts the hearts of those who wield it. The people who practice this fearful ability are known as “pets”, a term of loathing and contempt.
