We learned back in July that a new anime series is being lined up for the January 2020 period with 22/7. Aniplex USA has talked about the show a bit at their Anime NYC panel where they showed off an English-subtitled trailer for it – which we’ve got below – and now some new news has landed. The official site has updated to reveal that the premiere is set for January 11th, 2020 on Tokyo MX and several other networks. A new key visual you can see below was also released.

Takao Abo is directing based on the series composition by Reiji Miyajima. Majiro is handling the character designs and serving as the chief animation director with A-1 Pictures handling the production

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Nagomi Saijō as Miu Takigawa
  • Sally Amaki as Sakura Fujima
  • Mizuha Kuraoka as Miyako Kōno
  • Chiharu Hokaze as Reika Satō
  • Ruri Umino as Jun Toda
  • Kanae Shirosawa as Akane Maruyama
  • Reina Miyase as Ayaka Tachikawa
  • Mei Hanakawa as Nicole Saitō

22/7 idol group will perform the opening theme song “Muzui” and perform the ending theme song “Sora no Emerald” for the show.

During Crunchyroll Expo 2019, Aniplex USA tweeted out that information about the project and when it’s coming, which is a clear sign that they’ll be handling the project for overseas distribution in English-speaking territories. They also launched the US site.

Check out the official site and Twitter.

Plot Concept: Miu Takigara is a shy, introverted girl who one day receives an invitation from a talent agency. What doors might this invitation open for Miu? An idol story unlike any you’ve ever seen!
