Sometimes you look at older shows, such as this 1978 series, and you have to really admire the designs across the board and wonder where some of the creativity and anything-goes approach has gone. Happinet previously scheduled a Blu-ray release for the Muteki Kojin Daitarn 3 series with its 44-episode run that will be produced from a new telecine from positive film masters. The set will land on December 3rd, 2019 and will be priced at 40,000 yen. Extras include a booklet, the clean opening and closing, and some Blu-ray versions of the opening and closing.
With the set just about here, they’ve now showcased the packaging for it, provided a clip for the first episode, and are now streaming the 33rd episode in full.

Directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino based on the series composition by Yoshihisa Araki, the show featured character designs by Ichikazu Okuni and Noriko Shioyama. The Japanese cast includes Hirotaka Suzuoki as Haran Banjou, Kōichi Kitamura as Garrison Tokida, Shunsuke Shima as Commander Edwin, and You Inoue as Reika Sanjo.
Plot Concept: Sozo Haran was a brilliant scientist who was conducting an investigation on Mars. He created a lifestyle cyborg with the ability to think for itself. These cyborgs called Meganoids soon became out of control and killed Dr. Haran and his entire family, although he could save his youngest son, a boy of 16 years Banjou Haran. Banjou escapes from Mars in a rocket with a super robot powered by solar energy called Daitarn 3 who was built with special metals Mars. Now 18 and living on Earth in a luxurious mansion, Banjou fight against Meganoids with the help of his faithful assistant Garrison and his two companions, an ex-agent of Interpol Reika Sanjo and his childhood friend “Beauty” Tachibana . Together they must stop the evil Meganoids wicked who seek to turn all humans into cyborgs and thus “improve” the human race.
