The anime adaptation of Yoko Tamotsu’s series Mayonaka no Occult Komuin found itself a simulcast partner in Crunchyroll and was previously simulcast as Midnight Occult Civil Servants. Crunchyroll confirmed at the end of September that they will be streaming the OVAs for the series that are listed as episodes thirteen through fifteen. At the time they didn’t have details beyond that and I’m not seeing any notification in their news section about it being added. But you can now find episodes thirteen through fifteen as being available on the service here.

Availability for the simulcast is decent as it’s open to viewers in North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Latin America.

Tetsuya Watanabe is directing it and Higuchi Tatsumi handling the series composition. Yuko Ito is working on character designs.

The Japanese cast includes Jun Fukuyama as Shim Miyako, Tomoaki Maeno as Kyōichi Sakaki, Miyu Irino as Theo Himezuka, Koji Yusa as Reiji Senda, Takahiro Sakurai as Satoru Kanoichi, Shun’ichi Toki as Huehuecóyotl, and Kazutomi Yamamoto as Yuki.

The series features the song “dis-communicate” from lead actor Jun Fukuyama for the opening and “Yakusoku no Overture” by Shunichi Toki for the ending sequence.

The series kicked off back in the spring of 2015 in Monthly Asuka magazine and has eight volumes out as of this week. It’s also got a novelization that came out on July 25th, 2018.

Plot Concept: When Miyako Arata joins the Shinjuku Ward Office, he thinks he’s gotten a normal civil servant job. But it turns out he’s joined the Night Community Exchange Department, one of which operates secretly in each of Tokyo’s twenty-three ward offices. Their job is to resolve occult issues concerning non-human beings. Accompanied by his senpai and department head Sakaki Kyoichi and the occult-obsessed Himetsuka Seo, they work night after night, facing off with beings whose existence defies the laws of our world.
