Did you hit up the theater this weekend?

With the holiday week coming up for Thanksgiving in just a few days, there’s always a load of movies out on the weekend before and then for Thanksgiving itself. Disney’s bringing out ofFrozen 2 this weekend was a no-brainer and it landed with a strong $127 million. With some initial numbers that had people pulling back on their estimates, this is definitely a good weekend for Disney and for the film – even with critical reaction being mixed.

This weekend also saw the debut ofA Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood which came in at third place for a $13.5 million debut. And STX brought out21 Bridges, finally taking that trailer out of rotation, where it landed with $9.3 million.

Ford v. Ferrari nabbed the second place spot at $16 million to provide some good counterprogramming to all the kids off to seeFrozen 2.

This coming week sees Queen & Slim coming out on Wednesday while Knives Out lands as well, both of which are going wide.
