The fall 2019 original anime series Hoshiai no Sora, aka Stars Align, got underway with a premiere date of October 10th, 2019 on the TBS network. Funimation has announced their pickup for it with both a simulcast and simuldub that’s available for viewers in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, and Australia. As the series moves forward more, we now have our first subtitled clip from the show that gives us a moment when things take a dark turn for Maki as played by Natsuki Hanae.

The ending theme song is “Kago no Naka no Bokura wa” by AIKI from bless4.

It’s being produced with studio 8-Bit as a new original work with Kazuki Akane directing it and writing the scripts while Yuichi Takahashi is working on the character designs based on Itsuka’s original work. Takahashi is also serving as the animation director for the project as well.

The Japanese cast includes Natsuki Hanae as Maki Katsuragi, Tasuku Hatanaka as Toma Shinjo, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Jun Ameno, Gen Sato plays Rintarō Futsu, Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Tsubasa Soga, Keisuke Sato as Shingo Takenouchi, Yūsuke Kobayashi as Nao Tsukinose, and Kōhei Amasaki as Taiyō Ishigami.

Plot Concept: Toma Shinjo has a dilemma: he wants to save his school’s soft tennis club before it’s shut down! He seeks the help of Maki Katsuragi, a reluctant student with natural talent and other priorities. It’s going to be their last summer together as a team unless they all find a way to work together to save the club!
