We’re just about a week away from the debut of Frozen 2 in the US and anime fans may remember just how massively popular the first film was in Japan. One of the draws for that with me was that as much as I enjoyed the English songs that we had here, I loved the more haunting nature at times with the Japanese songs. So I’m thrilled that we’ve got our first music video out that provides a listen to “Into the Unknown’ from Takako Matsu, who did the dub for Elsa in the first and in Ralph Wrecks the Internet. She’s back for the sequel and the new song is just as great. Check out the MV below and get a taste of the English version from the promo just below it.
The 2013 film Frozen was a massive success as it brought in $1.276 billion on its $150 million budget and spawned a lot of spinoff material in the years since. It moved merchandise unlike a lot of other projects and it also delivered a soundtrack that was just everpresent for quite a long time. For me, I was caught up in the Japanese release of it as I found the dub and songs done there to be hauntingly beautiful.
