The would-be hijinks of the mischievous Matsuno sextuplets are hijacked from episode one by colorful buck-toothed con man Iyami and Chibita, his bald munchkin sidekick.

The folks at AsianCrush have brought a big batch of content to the Amazon Prime service with the Osomatsu-kun series from 1986. The show ran for 86 episodes back then and are now available for streaming for free for Prime members on the service. Nonmembers can purchase episodes for 99-cents each or buy the entire season for $71.99, both of which are in standard definition.

Based on the manga by Fujio Akatsuka that ran from 1962 to 1969 and had a couple of revivals along the way, it had an adaptation in the mid 60′s and then a remake in the late 80′s. This series is serving as a sequel to it with the same animation studio from the 80′s involved, albeit with a new creative team.

Plot concept: The would-be hijinks of the mischievous Matsuno sextuplets are hijacked from episode one by colorful buck-toothed con man Iyami and Chibita, his bald munchkin sidekick. Nearly every episode is a standalone comedy cavalcade with the above cast as well as other quirky locals who show up in a number of different roles as the series shifts effortlessly between time periods and genres.
