‘Queen’s Blade Unlimited’ Anime Gets Second Cover Artwork Reveal

The first volume of the Queen’s Blade Unlimited OVA series landed last year with a July 13th, 2018 debut where the DVD is priced at 6,000 yen and the Blu-ray at 7,000 yen. The second volume is set for a February 28th, 2020 debut in Japan and we’ve now got a look at the cover artwork for the release. Mayu Kisaragi directing it based on the script by Ryuunosuke Kingetsu. Takayuki Noguchi is serving as the character designer and chief animation director with Fortes handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Kaori Mizuhashi as Elina Vance
  • Kanae Itou as Airi
  • Yuki Kaida as Echidna
  • Mikako Takahashi as Nowa
  • Sayaka Ohara as Melpha
  • Aya Hirano as Nanael
  • Atsuko Tanaka as Claudette Vance

There are a few anime series out there for this property already with the first two TV series released by Media Blasters while the third and the OVA run were released by Sentai Filmworks.

Original concept: In four years’ time the competition that will decide who the next Queen shall be will start. The strongest warrior will continue to rule the country according to tradition and expand it. The contestants need only be older than 12 years. They need not be human, intelligent or even of that country. The rules for the tournament are simple: murder is allowed. Any weapon can be chosen. The winner is decided when one of the participants flees or can’t move anymore. The event is broadcast by the court’s magic teacher through a crystal sphere to the whole population to see and enjoy.
