The Blue Lynx boys-love label for Fuji TV has revealed their next project with a theatrical anime adaptation of Kanna Kii’s manga Umibe no Etranger, aka Stranger on the Beach. The project has its first teaser out and a key visual from Kii that gives us the illustration style. The manga began back in 2013 with three volumes published through 2017.

Akiyo Ohashi is directing based on the screenplay that he wrote while also doing storyboards for it. With Kii as a supervisor, he’s also working on the character designs with Studio Hibari handling the animation production.

Plot Concept: The focuses on Mio, a high school boy who lost his parents at an early age. Shun, a gay aspiring novelist living near Mio’s house on a remote island in Okinawa, noticed Mio sitting for hours at a bench on the beach. They grew closer to each other, but Mio had to leave Okinawa. Three years later, Mio returns to face his feelings.
