Netflix found some solid success with their Altered Carbon TV series last year and has a second season moving through production now. We learned previously about the anime feature film to complement it called Altered Carbon: Resleeved which at the time revealed that it;s being written by Dai Sato and Tsukasa Kondo and it was revealed that Anima is producing the animation.
Now, Netflix Japan has updated via Tweet below with two visuals from the project and that they’re looking at a spring 2020 debut for it, likely close to when the next season of the series will arrive. Jo Nakajima is on board to direct it.
The series is based on the 2002 novel by Richard K. Morgan and was adapted by Laeta Kalogridis, who is handling Battle Angel Alita. The show is set for a February 2nd, 2018 release.

Property Concept: Based on the classic cyberpunk noir novel by Richard K. Morgan, Altered Carbon is an intriguing story of murder, love, sex, and betrayal, set more than 300 years in the future. Society has been transformed by new technology: consciousness can be digitized; human bodies are interchangeable; death is no longer permanent. Takeshi Kovacs is the lone surviving soldier in a group of elite interstellar warriors who were defeated in an uprising against the new world order. His mind was imprisoned, “on ice”, for centuries until Laurens Bancroft, an impossibly wealthy, long-lived man, offers Kovacs the chance to live again. In exchange, Kovacs has to solve a murder … that of Bancroft himself.
