Netflix revealed at an event in Singapore back in November 2018 about several projects they had coming up, one which is an adaptation of a manga property. The Mushikago no Cagaster manga from Kacho Hashimoto is set for adaptation as Cagaster of an Insect Cage and now it’s been revealed that it will arrive in 2020 and that it’s set for the Netflix platform.

The show has Koichi Chigira directing it for Netflix with GONZO handling the animation production.

The original manga ran from 2005 to 2013 on Hashimoto’s own website and had seven volumes published in 2016 by Tokuma Shoten.

Check out the series Netflix page her.

Plot Concept: Set in a post-apocalyptic world where a mysterious disease “Cagaster” turns people into giant murderous insects, this manga-based series follows the struggle of a young couple to stay alive.
