A look at the non-kids and non-manga graphic novel market focused on the traditional comics side has its rankings in thanks to NPD BookScan looking at the larger market for the month of September 2019. It’s a big month for Batman since we were going into the Joker film that was coming up at the time and general bat-awareness. Batman: Damned takes the top spot while we get a couple of other DC Black Label books charting. Six Batman related books are on the list in general.
Marvel Comics gets a couple of things onto the chart this month with Ms Marvel possibly riding from the announcement of a TV series this summer as well as War of the Realms. The Star Wars side also charts with one of the books from the Age of Rebellion run of one-shots.
Dark Horse Comics gets us a nod with Avatar while Bungie gets a Destiny book in.
Vertigo Comics has a good month as well with V for Vendetta showing its evergreen status while also getting in a new Sandman re-release.
