TMS Entertainment Adds ‘God Mars’ Anime On YouTube

2 min read

With streaming services like Hulu, Crunchyroll, and Tubi TV all having brought it out in the last couple of years for TMS Entertainment, Discotek Media previously stepped in to get the home video rights to God Mars. The TMS Entertainment group has now brought out the twenty-five episode run for fans now available through YouTube directly. They’ve set up a playlist for it so you can just binge right though the show in its original Japanese with English subtitles.

Originally airing from October 1981, the series was created by Mitsuteru Yokoyama with his manga that ran from 1976 to 1977 with five volumes in Shounen Captain. The anime adaptation saw Keisuki Fujikawa handling the bulk of the writing on it, as he’d done a lot of the Galaxy Express 999 work as well as Glass Mask and Great Mazinger.

Plot concept: A young boy is sent from a distant star to destroy Earth, but after experiencing the beauty of the planet and its inhabitants, begins to question his mission. With the aid of the powerful robot God Mars, the boy struggles to protect Earth from his own people, and as a result, is forced to do battle with his very own brother.
