‘Sazan & Comet Girl’ Manga By Yuriko Akase Gets Seven Seas Pickup

2 min read

Seven Seas Entertainment has picked up a property that was nominated for the Manga Taisho Award with Sazan & Comet Girl by Yuriko Akase, a critically acclaimed, full-color manga series. Known as Sazan to Suisei no Shoujo, the two-volume series was serialized in Torch magazine in 2015.

Seven Seas will publish the manga for the first time in North America in print and on digital platforms in a single omnibus edition. The book will be released on May 26th, 2020 for $24.99 USA / $32.99 CAN.

Plot Concept: Sazan, a young man from Earth, works on other planets and has seen his share of galactic oddities. But when he meets Mina, a red-headed girl who zooms into his life on a space scooter, he knows he’s run into someone special. Mina contains shocking power within her body–a power coveted by space pirates who hope to steal it from her. Mina zooms out of Sazan’s life almost as quickly as she arrived, but Sazan is determined to find her again…no matter how far he has to chase her across the galaxy. This spectacular full-color manga–an homage to energetic space operas of years past–is entirely contained in this 500-page omnibus. Nominated for the Manga Taisho Award in Japan!
