Final ‘Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’ Trailer Arrives

2 min read

With tickets on sale yesterday, last night during Monday Night Football where my Patriots took down the Jets 33 to 0, LucasFilm dropped the final main trailer for Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker, the end of the nine-part saga that has been told quite out of order. The trailer brings in more pieces that we hadn’t seen in the previous teasers so that we got more scale, more hints of what’s to come, and plenty for fans to chew on as we try to tie together ideas ahead of seeing the final product.

I also want to mention that there are things you can get to ahead of time as well, such as the Marvel Comics miniseries Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – Allegiance. This has worked a couple of different storylines in two of the four issues released so far, including how the First Order built up their fleet so fast as well as what the Resistance was doing in securing ships and equipment themselves. It gives me hope that there’s a good period of time between this film and The Last Jedi so that the expanded universe side will have some fertile ground to tell stories with.

The film is set for a December 19th, 2019 premiere with J.J. Abrams directing based on the script he co-wrote with Chris Terrio. The cast includes Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, John Boyega as Finn, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, Lupita Nyong’o as Maz Kanata, Domhnall Gleeson as General Hux, Kelly Marie Tran as Rose Tico, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, Billie Lourd as Lieutenant Connix, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Keri Russell, Matt Smith, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, Billy Dee Williams, as Lando Calrissian, Carrie Fisher.

Plot Concept: Every generation has a legend.
