The winter 2019 anime adaptation of the Kaguya-sama: Love is War manga looks like it did well enough in combination with the live-action film as a second season of the anime has been green-lit. While no date was set for it, we did get a new key visual to the right and a teaser tweet below. Confirmations also came in that the main cast and staff will be returning to the project.

Mamoru Hatakeyama directed based on the series composition and supervision by Yasuhiro Nakanishi. Yuuko Yahiro worked on the character designs and A-1 Pictures was behind the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Aoi Koga as Kaguya Shinomiya, Makoto Furukawa as Miyuki Shirogane, Konomi Kohara as Chika Fujiwara, Ryōta Suzuki as Yū Ishigami, and Yumiri Hanamori as Ai Hayasaka.

The manga began in Miracle Jump in early 2015 from Aka Akasaki and moved to Young Jump in 2016. The property has fifteen volumes out as of October 2019

Plot Concept: Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane are two geniuses who stand atop their prestigious academy’s student council, making them the elite among elite. But it’s lonely at the top and each has fallen for the other. There’s just one huge problem standing in the way of lovey-dovey bliss-they’re both too prideful to be the first to confess their romantic feelings and thus become the ‘loser’ in the competition of love! And so begins their daily schemes to force the other to confess first!
