The latest Marvel 101 is out and they’re focusing on a very beloved and fun character with Doreen Green, aka Squirrel Girl. The character has been around since 1991 when she was created by Will Murray and Steve Ditko back in Marvel Super-Heroes #8. While not a well-known character for much of her existence, this decade has been good to her as Marvel delved into the comedy side a bit more and she had some strong material to work with.
In the time since, she’s managed to make her way into the animated TV side with a few shows and was initially going to be a part of the New Warriors TV series that Marvel TV was trying to get into production but ended up canceled. She’s also in several games where you can use her as a player character.
And let’s not forget there are a couple of original graphic novels out there for her as well!
