Time to design a club room.

What They Say:
School life — it’s an experience that everyone should have, and no one should take for granted. Of course, everyone knows that the most enviable way to spend high school is as the most popular person in class. Transfer student Urata has decided that his high school debut will be brilliant, and as he reaches nervously for the door — it happens. In his way stand fellow high school students Shima, Sakata, and Senra! Are they enemies? Allies? Or something else entirely?! This heart-pounding transfer school youth story is about to begin! less

The Review:
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
With the boys having decided to create the transfer student club (which they manage with just four of them, going against the grain of most other shows about clubs), they’re now able to start moving forward together. With the group minus Shima heading to the club room they discover that the place has been given a huge makeover – with a trap just at the entrance to capture all three. Shima has gone overboard with the design but at its core it’s pretty basic. And there is something to be said for just having the guys sit around the kotatsu and talk and hang out playing games and the like. Shima’s over the top with it and it’s amusing seeing him getting some pushback.

In Summary:
Though the series does basically semi-reset with the end of this episode it’s not a surprise. It’s not like the club room could really double as a fun ninja-like hangout space with videogames and the like. Shima’s definitely amusing how proud he is of it and seeing the others having to be buzzkills is comical. It’s again a cute and simple show in its design with the whole guys being guys thing in a non-offensive way. It’s not doing any heavy lifting but it gets the chuckles it asks for.
