2 min read

Zombie-LoanWith the folks at Discotek Media having picked up the right to the 2007 TV series Zombie-Loan awhile ago and giving it a home video release, they’re now expanding their streaming options for it. The folks at Tubi TV have added it to their site, which comes a few months after expansion across several other services. The show, which ran for 11 episodes plus two specials, was animated by Xebec and NAS based on the manga of the same name.

The manga was released by Yen Press in North America and ran for 13 volumes between 2002 and 2008. Discotek Media will be releasing the TV and OVA specials series on DVD on September 30th, 2014 with the original Japanese language and English subtitles.

Plot concept: Do you know when you are going to die? Michiru Kita does, as she has the ability to see the ring of death around people’s necks. The darker the ring, the closer to death someone is. She notices that two boys in her class, Chika Akatsuki and Shito Tachibana, have completely black rings. Seeking to warn them of their impending demise, she stumbles onto their secret: they are already dead, but they are kept alive due to a contract with Zombie-Loan. Of course, nothing comes without a price. The boys must hunt down and destroy zombies, seeking to use Michiru’s “Shinigami Eyes” to help them in their endeavor.
