Netflix Goes Live With ‘Magmell of the Sea Blue’ Anime Premiere

2 min read

The spring 2018 anime adaptation for the Gunjyo no Magumeru manga was one that pretty much disappeared from view as nobody had picked it up, leaving most to assume that Netflix had it. Netflix confirmed their pickup of it previously and announced last month that it would be coming to the service as Ultramarine Magmell with an October 10th, 2019 debut. That’s now hit and the show has gone live here.

The series has Hayato Date directing it with Chuji Mikasano handling the series composition. Animation production is being handled by Pierrot.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Kengo Kawanishi as In You
  • M・A・O as Zero
  • Hibiku Yamamura as Emiria
  • Toshiyuki Morikawa as Syu In

The manga by Dainenbyo began in 2015 on the Shonen Jump+ app and has four volumes to its name.

Plot Concept: The series is set on the mysterious continent of Magumeru, which miraculously appeared in the middle of the Pacific Ocean one day. Since Magumeru is teeming with unknown flora, fauna, and minerals, its appearance sets off an exploration craze, but the island is also incredibly dangerous. A young man named In You makes a living by rescuing explorers who get in trouble there.
