The Japanese debut of Weathering With You from Makoto Shinkai debuted this past summer with the July 19th, 2019 debut with worldwide distribution being planned for it. We saw GKIDS pick up the film back in May and with plans mentioned for a 2020 bilingual release earlier this year, they’ve now brought out a new official subtitled trailer for it with the reveal of a January 17th, 2020 debut for it in theaters. While there are no details beyond that we do have a new theatrical poster for it as well that you can see to the right.

Shinkai is writing and directing the film based at CoMix Wave Films with Atsushi Tamura serving as the animation director and Masayoshi Tanaka handling the character designs.

The cast includes Kotaro Daiko as Hodaka Morishima and Nana Mori as Hina Amano.
