Crunchyroll Adds ‘Shin Chuka Ichiban!’ For Fall 2019 Anime Lineup

Crunchyroll has picked up the show under the name True Cooking Master Boy!

The anime adaptation of Shin Chuka Ichiban! is set for an October 11th, 2019 debut in Japan and now its overseas simulcast has started to shape up. Crunchyroll has picked up the show under the name True Cooking Master Boy with it set to premiere the same day at 2:45 pm ET. Availability for the series is for it to be open to viewers in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and the Middle East.

The anime has Itsuro Kawasaki directing it and overseeing the scripts while Saki Hasegawa is handling the character designs. Production IG and JY Animation is involved with the animation production.

The new cast reveal includes:

  • Natsumi Fujiwara a Mao
  • Ai Kayano as Mei Li
  • Yukiyo Fujii as Zhi Lao
  • Yuichi Nakamura as Xi Er
  • Tomokazu Sugita as Li Wen
  • Junya Enoki as Fei
  • Yoshimitsu Shimomaya as Chouyu
  • Shinpachi Tsuji as Ruoh
  • Keiichi Nakagawa as Shouan
  • Yūko Kaida as Shan.

Plot Concept: During the 19th century China, the protagonist, Liu Maoxing, wins the title of Super Chef and is the youngest to do so in history. His master, Zhou Yu, suggests that he broaden his skills as a chef even more, so he goes on a journey around China with his friends Shirou and Meili. After returning, he also teams up with Xie Lu and Lei En to fight the Underground Cooking Society. He then learns the secret about the 8 Legendary Cooking Tools. In the past, Mao’s mother, Bei, had wished for everyone’s happiness and fought against the Underground Cooking Society. In order to continue his mother’s wishes and protect the Legendary Cooking Utensils from the Underground Cooking Society, Mao and his friends go on a journey…
