HOUSTON, TX – October 3, 2019 – Sentai Filmworks announced today that it acquired exclusive rights to sci-fi anime series Z/X Code Reunion for distribution in North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, South America and Central America, Spain and Portugal as well as Nordic and Scandinavian countries. The all-new television series is based on the Z/X manga series and collectible card game by Broccoli and Nippon Ichi Software.
The signing of a peace treaty has secured a tenuous ceasefire between mankind and the Zex, beings who emerged from space/time rifts connected to mysterious, distant worlds. Partnered with a Zex named Rigel, Azumi Kakamigahara must shoulder the fate of her own idyllic world. The unlikely pair head to newly established Fujimisaki Academy, but what destinies await them once they arrive?
Z/X Code Reunion is produced by studio Passione (Wasteful Days of High School Girls, High School DxD Hero, Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers) and directed by Yoshifumi Sueda (Maoyu ~ Archenemy & Hero, Noragami, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood). The series’ theme song is composed by Noriyasu Agematsu of Elements Garden and is performed by Ogura Yui (The Hentai Prince and the Stony Cat, Tsuritama, Tsurezure Children).
The series stars Yui Ogura as Azumi Kagamihara, Aya Uchida (Trinity Seven, Release the Spyce, RE-KAN!) as Rigel, Miyu Tomita (MADE IN ABYSS, Himouto! Umaru-chan, The Magnificent KOTOBUKI) as Yuni Tsukigata, Inori Minase (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Girls’ Last Tour, Love Lab) as Ena Soranokawa, Aina Suzuki (Akame ga Kill!, Love Live! Sunshine!!, Castle Town Dandelion) as Shuri Kijino and Maria Naganawa (Magic of Stella, Invaders of the Rokujyoma!?, Occultic;Nine) as Matoi Shinonome.
Z/X Code Reunion will be available Fall 2019 to stream on select digital outlets with a home video release to follow.
