Aniplex USA Adds New Subtitled ‘Fate/Grand Order: Zettai Majū Sensen Babylonia’ Anime Promo

2 min read

We learned last summer that the Fate/Grand Order project is working through various projects, one of which is the Fate/Grand Order: Zettai Majū Sensen Babylonia anime set for an October 5th, 2019 debut. The two-cour show was part of a lot of news yesterday with Sony bringing together various divisions it owns to work more closely and with this series being slated as an exclusive for it, which makes sense to drive traffic and customers. With the zero episode having previously streamed on both Funimation and Crunchyroll, Aniplex USA stepped in to confirm that Crunchyroll will be streaming the TV series as well but that it will be at a later date. With yesterday’s news saying that it would be a 30-day exclusive, it looks like it’ll be a four-episode gap if you’re going to wait on Crunchyroll.

CloverWorks will be animating the TV series with Toshifumi Akai directing it with Miyuki Kuroki. The film project has Production I.G. behind it.

The Japanese cast includes Nobunaga Shimazaki as Ritsuka Fujimaru, Rie Takahashi as Mashu Kyrielight and Ayako Kawasumi as Fou, Tomokazu Seki as Gilgamesh, Yu Kobayashi as Enkidu, Kana Ueda as Ishtar, Takahiro Sakurai as Merlin, Yuu Asakawa as Ana, Kenichi Suzumura as Romani Archaman, Maaya Sakamoto as Leonardo Da Vinci, and Yumi Uchiyama as Siduri.

Plot Concept: The story is set in the year 2015, during the final era over which magic still held a strong influence. The humanity survival and security organization Chaldea was established to observe the world that can only be seen by magic and the world that can only be measured by science; as well as to prevent the final extinction of humanity.

Thanks to the efforts of many researchers, the path of human history has been ensured for 100 years into the future. However, without warning, the realm of the future that was under constant observation by Chaldea vanished. The extinction of humanity in 2017 was observed—no, confirmed.

The apparent cause of the extinction was in the Japanese city of Fuyuki in 2004. In that city, there was an “unobservable realm” which had never existed until now.

Chaldea issued the Grand Order for a “Holy Grail Expedition,” to investigate, uncover, and possibly destroy the singularity that apparently will cause the extinction of humanity.
