Funimation Sets ‘One Piece: Stampede’ Anime Film Premiere

The One Piece: Stampede is a part of the 20th-anniversary celebrations that are in the works and we’ve seen it do well in Japan while also getting some select showings through Madman and their film festivals. Funimation is set to bring the film out in October with subtitled screenings on the 24th, 29th, and 31st while the dub will debut on the 26th and 30th in the US. With tickets on sale today, Funimation has now revealed the four actors for the film original characters and firming up that Mike McFarland was the ADR director working from the script by Clint Bickham. They also confirmed that Chris Rager is taking over the role of Blackbeard as Cole Brown passed away in 2016.

The film is directed by Takashi Otsuka based on a screenplay he co-wrote with Atsuhiro Tomioka. Masayuki Sato handles the character designs.

  • Anthony Bowling as Donald
  • Daman Mills as Bullet

The new Japanese cast members for this film include:

  • Yūsuke Santamaria as Buena Festa
  • Rino Sashihara as Ann
  • Ryōta Yamasato as Donald Moderate

The Japanese cast includes Mayumi Tanaka as Monkey D. Luffy, Akemi Okamura as Nami, Chō as Brook, Hiroaki Hirata as Vinsmoke Sanji, Ikue Ōtani as Tony Chopper, Kappei Yamaguchi as Usopp, Kazuki Yao as Franky,  Kazuya Nakai as Roronoa Zoro, and Yuriko Yamaguchi as Nico Robin.

Plot Concept: The world’s greatest exposition of the pirates, by the pirates, for the pirates – the Pirates Festival. Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat Crew receive an invitation from its host Buena Festa who is known as the Master of Festivities. They arrive to find a venue packed with glamorous pavilions and many pirates including the ones from the Worst Generation. The place is electric.
