Hulu Drops ‘Ghost Rider’ Series After Creative Impasse

Ghost Rider, also known as Robbie Reyes, is consumed by hellfire and supernaturally bound to a demon.

Marvel TV revealed back in May that they were gearing up with two new series for Hulu with Ghost Rider and Helstrom. The Ghost Rider series was using the Robbie Reyes character and will bring back Gabriel Luna to play him but with it being completely separate from the character he played in Agents of SHIELD previously.

That’s now off the table, according to Deadline, as Ghost Rider has been nixed with the source saying that the team had reached a creative impasse that could not be resolved, causing Hulu to drop the project. With the character being used in the comics a lot more, one has to wonder if Marvel has bigger plans that could transition into Disney+ or film.

Hulu currently carries Marvel’s Runaways and has adult-oriented animated projects in the works with Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K, Marvel’s Hit-Monkey, Marvel’s Tigra & Dazzler Show and Marvel’s Howard The Duck, which will culminate in a special event, Marvel’s The Offenders.

Property Concept: Ghost Rider, also known as Robbie Reyes, is consumed by hellfire and supernaturally bound to a demon. He lives on the Texas/Mexico border and when he unleashes the Rider, Robbie brings vengeance for the innocents he encounters but struggles to control the power he wields
