The anime adaptation of the Seishun Buta Yarō light novel, which is being localized as Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, revealed last summer that a theatrical film is in the works. While the film saw its June 15th, 2019 debut in Japan, it’s now being set for North American distribution. Aniplex USA and Funimation are partnering up for this where it’ll get a US release on October 2nd and 3rd while Canada gets October 4th and 5th. With that closing in, Aniplex has now brought out an English-subtitled trailer to their channel to make the film a bit more accessible to potential new viewers.

Soichi Masui is directing the TV series based on the series composition by Masahiro Yokotani. Satomi Tamura is adapting the character and serving as the chief animation director with Akira Takata. Animation production is being done by CloverWorks.

The Japanese cast includes Kaito Ishikawa as Sakuta Azusagawa, Asami Seto as Mai Sakurajima, Yurika Kubo as Kaede Azusagawa, Nao Tōyama as Tomoe Koga, Atsumi Tanezaki as Rio Futaba, Maaya Uchida as Nodoka Toyohama, Inori Minase as Shōko Makinohara, Yūma Uchida as Yūma Kunimi, Himika Akaneya as Saki Kamisato, and Satomi Satou as Fumika Nanjō.

The light novels began in April 2014 with nine volumes out so far. A manga by Tsugumi Nanamiya kicked off in 2016 which has four volumes published so far.
