Having previously hit the spring 2019 theatrical circuit with an April 5th, 2019 debut, the new anime feature film with Laidbackers is getting some new promotion. Flying Dog is handling the distribution and they brought it out previously with a July 31st, 2019 debut for it where there’ll be a DVD/CD edition priced at 7,500 yen and a BD/CD edition priced at 8,500 yen. While it’s been out for a bit, Flying Dog has now brought out a new promo to actually remind people it came out.
The set comes with a booklet in addition to the soundtrack CD while on-disc extras include two commentary tracks (newly recorded, one from the theater), along with the trailers, TV spots, character promos, and the shorts.
The film comes from director Hiroyuki Hashimoto based on the screenplay by Makoto Uezu. Jirou Suzuki handled the original character designs and Kei Tsuchiya is handling the adaptation and serving as the chief animation director. KlockWorx handled the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Rina Hidaka as Harami Mitsuno, Himika Akaneya as Mai Maisaka, Yō Taichi as K. Kusanagi, Maria Naganawa as Ran, Yumi Uchiyama as Arnelia ,Yumiri Hanamori as Kumi Honamanuma, Saki Fujita as Yuko Saginomiya, Katsuyuki Konishi as Leonard, and Jun Fukuyama as Ron.

Plot Concept: The anime sets in contemporary Kyoto. In order to take over her grandmother’s Dagashi store, art university student Kumi Honamanuma moved to Kyoto. She met Harami Mino, K Kusanagi, Mai Maisaka, and a dog who live in the store, which supposed to be empty. Kumi ended up living with these girls, who claim that they are heroes reincarnated to contemporary period to chase after the demon king. Harami and others has been living in a peaceful life with no missions to to achieve anymore until Ran, who was a demon king in the past and appears to be a cute elementary school girl from failing to reincarnate, appeared in front of them one day. The story begins with Ran requesting to collect demon king’s fragments.
